Better day today

March 27th, 2015 at 02:40 pm

Yesterday I threw myself a pity party. Thanks, everyone, for your kind words of encouragement.

Anyway, it appears DS2 reads my blog, because he gave me a six-hour uninterrupted stretch of sleep last night. I can't remember the last time I was asleep between the hours of 4 and 6 am. It's amazing what a little extra sleep can do!

For example, this morning I had the energy to actually take the five minutes to switch out the old broken bath toy container for the new one I purchased three months ago. And now there are no longer bath toys strewn all over our bathroom.

We also got our tax refunds -- state came yesterday and federal today. We had a $40 reimbursement from DH's work, too, so I sent it all to the EF. We've now added $4895.10 so far this year. Only $104.90 to go to meet the goal!

I don't even have a baby, but I do have sleep problems, and it is amazing how different you feel when you've gotten some good sleep! Glad you are feeling better.

Sleep is so important, apparently you both needed it! A boost to the EF does help improve my mood, too.

Awesome work on your EF goal! And more sleep, yay!! Ps saw your post yesterday but had no time to reply, just remember it's ok when things get crazy busy to just focus on your core responsibilities. If you are keeping your family fed, earning needed money, keeping your house going, it is ok to put aside certain goals until you're in a better place with a bit more free time. Just do the things that matter and be proud of yourself for doing that.

We've been traveling, trains here don't have WIFI so I missed your 'pity party.' Getting both a significant tax rebate and 6 consecutive hrs sleep are the kind of reward you needs to improve your outlook. Suggest you work out the basics, what must be done to keep the family operational and delegate the rest to hired help. YES, cleaning lady, YES teen babysitter who live nearby and can step in on little notice and whatever you need.

You can catch up on those other goals later.
